Year: 2010
Key Points:

  • 400 workers houses and offices
  • All internal fittings and furnishings
  • Project support and training
  • Personal hands-on management

Source Supply had been working with various contractors throughout Angola on a variety of projects. A second cement factory was being built and our client required an accommodation camp for the workers. This proved to be the biggest project for us in 2009, and included the provision of 400 houses and offices from the steel framed prefabricated building range.

From this initial brief we were also able to supply our client with all the fittings & furnishings to make the prefab buildings into habitable accommodation. This included everything from suspended ceilings, all flooring, tools to build the houses, generators, fencing around the site, furniture, kitchen and bathroom fittings, appliances such as fridges, microwaves, gas cookers, electric hoods, TV’s as well as all bedding including mattress and pillows and even the towels in the bathrooms

These houses have a life span of 5 - 7 years to specifically cater for the building of the cement works. The project was personally over-seen by Pete Toms. Source Supply also included a training program in the construction of the buildings and utility planning.

We worked a total of 35 different suppliers to cater for the wide range of products. Shipping was effected from 8 different Chinese Ports to Angola using 45x40HQ shipping containers.
